Carrigaline Badminton AGM – Wed 23rd May at 8pm

On Wednesday 23rd May at 8pm in the Carrigaline Badminton Club, there is, what can only be described as “a meeting to beat all meetings”. It will not be Any Goofy Meeting. It will in fact be the best every ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING ever held in the history of AGM’s ever. Entry to this meeting is confined to members of Carrigaline Badminton Club. So, if you are lucky enough to be a member of this exclusive club, then be relieved, because you too can attend this amazing event. Make sure you arrive early though to guarantee the best seat in the house and avoid disappointment!

Your club needs you!

Have you any ideas on how the club could be better run?

Would you like to get involved in the five-year development plan to bring the club to the next level?

Would you like to volunteer a small bit of your time to help organize this great club?

Would you like to feel the fantastic sense of satisfaction that comes from selflessly helping others?

Then this is the moment for you to shine! A number of committee members have run their course in their current roles and we will be looking for fresh blood to get involved on the committee. New or experienced members are as welcome as novice and more experienced players. If you are unable to attend this great occasion, then you can contact any committee member to inform them of your interest to join the committee.

Two end of season fun competitions will be held next week. Tuesday 15th May for division 1 to 5 players and Wednesday 16th May for division 6 and social players. Irish Heart Foundation Volunteers Needed

The Irish Heart Foundation are the only National Charity working to reduce premature death & disability from heart disease & stroke. The charity is 93% funded by public donations and their biggest fund raiser is the annual flag day on Happy Heart Weekend.

The Charity is looking for volunteers from Carrigaline Badminton Club to help provide cover in Carrigaline for a minimum of one hour at some stage between Thursday 10th and Saturday 12th May. More information about the Irish Heart Foundation can be found on www.happyheartweekend.ie.

This is a very topical subject at present given the number of high profile incidences of players suffering from heart attack in sport recently. Carrigaline Badminton Club have recently decided to purchase a defibrillator to ensure that we have the ability to react to an emergency should it ever arise in the hall. You now have a chance to play your part, and if you are interested in volunteering then please let webmaster@carrigalinebadminton.ie or Anne Riordan on 086 8520199 know.
